I started training clients at 16 and have coached for more than ten years since. I spent three years in the military teaching combatives, then ran personal training as a director at a commercial gym for four years before going independent on this floor at Trinity West Covina. Today I program strength and conditioning for everyone from track athletes chasing explosive speed to clients rebuilding after injury, and I compete in NPC men's physique myself. My goal is simple: get you in the best shape of your life in the fastest, most enjoyable way possible.

The Background

A West Covina trainer, coaching since 16.

Robert Ramirez began training clients at 16. In the decade-plus since, Robert has spent three years in the military teaching combatives, run personal training as a director at a commercial gym for four years, and then gone independent on the Trinity Training West Covina floor, where Robert coaches clients one-on-one.

Teaching combatives, running a personal training department and coaching independently are three different jobs built on the same skill: getting another person to move better and keep showing up. Robert's own goal is stated simply: get you in the best shape of your life in the fastest, most enjoyable way possible.

Strength & Conditioning

Strength & conditioning in West Covina.

Robert programs strength and conditioning for a wide range of clients, from track athletes chasing explosive speed to clients rebuilding after injury. Most of that work happens on The Floor, Trinity's room of Panatta, Atlantis and Newtech equipment.

The common thread is a program written for the individual rather than a template: your goals, your training history and the way you move decide what goes on the page. To see how the discipline runs across the facility, read about strength and conditioning at Trinity.

Athletic Performance

Speed training for track athletes.

Robert coaches track athletes who want to get faster and more explosive. Speed is a force problem and a technique problem at once: how much force an athlete can produce, how quickly, and how cleanly it turns into forward motion. Strength work builds the first; sprint and jump practice sharpen the second.

Sessions can move from the weight room to The Turf, where sleds, carries and sprints have room to run. The Athletic Performance program explains how this kind of training is structured at Trinity.

Injury Recovery

Post-rehab training after injury.

Robert also coaches clients who are rebuilding after an injury. Robert's role is to help you return to strength and confident movement once you have been cleared to train. Robert is a certified personal trainer, not a physician or physical therapist, and Robert does not diagnose or treat injuries.

If you are under medical care, bring your clinician's guidance and any restrictions to the first session so the program respects them. Trinity's Mobility & Rehab training and on-site sports massage support the recovery side of the work.

Fight & Physique

Fight conditioning & men’s physique.

Fight conditioning is one of Robert's listed specialties, and it sits on top of three years teaching combatives in the military. Good fight conditioning builds the capacity to keep moving well under fatigue. For clients drawn to striking, it pairs with The Boxing Area and Trinity's Boxing & Combat training.

On the physique side, Robert competes in NPC men's physique, so bodybuilding and body-composition goals are ones Robert trains for personally as well as coaches.

Is Robert Right For You?

Is Robert the right trainer for you?

Robert is a strong fit if any of these sound like you:

  • You are an athlete, especially in track, who wants more speed and power.
  • You are coming back from an injury, with medical clearance, and want a structured return to strength.
  • You want a serious strength program on proper equipment, with no membership and no contract.
  • You are drawn to combat-style conditioning, or to physique and body-composition training.

Strength is the foundation everything else stacks on. Trinity's strength & conditioning trainers build athletes, professionals, and lifelong residents who want to move heavy, recover hard, and keep doing it for decades.

01

ASSESSMENT FIRST

Movement screen, training history, current lifts. Your trainer builds the program around your body — not a template they hand to every client.

02

PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD THAT HOLDS UP

Programmed cycles with deloads built in. You'll see the numbers move week over week without burning out.

03

CONDITIONING THAT DOESN'T KILL YOUR LIFTS

Energy-system work paired with strength training, not against it. Capacity grows. Recovery improves. Strength stays.

04

TRAINING ON THE FLOOR

Hands-on cues, video review, real-time form correction. Every session has a trainer who's watching.

Who Robert’s clients tend to be

  • Lifters chasing real PRs — not gym numbers
  • Athletes whose sport demands repeatable power
  • Professionals returning to the iron after years away
  • Anyone tired of training without a program
